Mauricio Vargas
Chief Executive Officer
Mauricio Vargas is CEO of Greenhouse Gas Services, a GE AES venture. He joined the company in March 2008.
Prior to this role, Mauricio served as Vice President of Corporate Governance for the AES Corporation’s businesses in Brazil, where he was responsible for Internal Audit, Compliance and Brazilian Governance. While at AES, Mauricio also served as the company’s Corporate Managing Director for Internal Audit and Director of audit-operational excellence.
Prior to AES, Mauricio held executive positions at GE and Siemens, including several positions in P&L, sales and marketing.
Mauricio holds a Mechanical Engineering degree in Combustion Technology from the University of California- Irvine and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
